Obituary of Eva Alida Chappell
Eva A. Chappell, Our angel, passed away peacefully in her home, she was 97.
She was born in Long Beach, California the daughter of Cornelius and Bertha Reyngoudt.
Eva married Edmund Chappell on June 4, 1977 and they moved from Southern California to Lake Havasu City, watching it grow from a single traffic light to what it is today, the jewel city on the Colorado River. She attended Drake business school in N.J. learning the secretarial trade and became one of the top executive secretaries for several engineering companies: Clary Corporation, San Gabriel, California, Stevens Corporation, South Pasadena, California, Resdel Engineering Corporation, Pasadena, California and ITT/Federal Electric Corporation, Vandenberg AFB in California.
Eva had a passion for reading and a special gift for sewing, she always loved a challenge. In her earlier years golfing was a weekly event and she started the Lake Havasu City "Happy Niners" women's golfing group.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edmond R. Chappell.
She is survived by her two children, Michael Alan Sands and Lawrence Alan Sands, Grandson, Larry Sands (Sherry) Great grandchildren, Brian, Shannon and Rachael Sands, Nephew and Niece, Roger and Mary Sutton, as well as Greg Phipps (Debi), and Sue Hooper (Larry)
Eva will be remembered for her great spirit of caring for her family and many friends. She was a giving person and expected nothing in return. A kind and gentle person.
