John McCauley, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away on July 27, 2018 at the age of 77.
John was born in Newtonards of Northern Ireland on June 26, 1941 to Samuel and Martha McCauley. During his lifetime, John traveled extensively and resided in areas such as Malaysia, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, England, Germany/Holland, Israel, Canada as well as the United States. His time in the Royal Airforce as an Aircraft Engineer was spent mostly in Singapore and Bahrain. Due to his experience with aircrafts, John worked for various aircraft manufactures in Europe. He worked with the team who built and flew the Fuji Blimp, which flew across the USA during the 1984 Olympics. In the States, John was a hydraulics expert at Universal Studios, helping to build and maintain various rides including the 'Back to the Future' ride.
John thoroughly loved his time travelling around the world. He enjoyed solving cryptic crossword puzzles with his cat, Sassy by his side. He liked having a drink at the local bar McKee's.
John was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Martha McCauley, and his siblings Richard McCauley, Samuel McCauley and Etta Rashotte.
John is survived by his daughter Samantha McCauley, his step-daughter Michelle Forbes, his brother Henry McCauley, his sister Margaret Simpson and his grandson Sid Forbes, all of the United Kingdom.
A Memorial Service will be held in John's honor Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 3:00PM in the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel.
