Obituary of Ronald Alan Brookes

Ron Brookes, 51, died at home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Ron was born in Berkeley, California. Ron lived in Davis, California for 12 years before coming to Lake Havasu City in 1980. Ron graduated from Lake Havasu High School in 1989. He attended New Horizons day program from 1989 to 2004. He participated in Special Olympics from 1979 to 2009. Ron is survived by his mother; Nancy J. Brookes, father Alan C. Brookes, step-mother; Carol Brookes, sister; JoAnn K. Brookes and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Victor V. and Genevieve M. (Gen) Myers and paternal grandparents; Valentine and Virginia Brookes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron's name to New Horizons, 2045 Moyo Drive, LHC, AZ 86403 A Celebration of Ron's life will be held on July 13th from 5-8 PM at New Horizons.
