Please accept my sympathy in this time of sorrow over the passing of "Uncle Elmer" which is the name I knew from listening to my Wife (Marilee Fassero Collins) tell numerous fond stories about him, his impact on his brothers, sisters, his own family and even on her life.
I met Uncle Elmer, Betty, his wife, and his daughter, Cindy, only one time. We stopped for a visit while traveling. We had a wonderful time with a lot of laughs plus a wonderful, fried chicken lunch. We regret not being able to have more fun visits with him and everyone in the family.
All the best to everyone and may God bless you all.

We had a short friendship but I really enjoyed our conversations. Thanks for the beer at 9am and I don't drink much only at home. I never had a chance to show you my Bowen knife. Thanks!

Family & Friends of Elmer Bowen,
May you find comfort in knowing death, sickness & sorrow were not God’s purpose for mankind and his purpose has not changed. His word is clear, “He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces”. (Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:4)
Further, Jesus guaranteed the coming resurrection (John 5:21, 28, 29), he performed resurrections and was himself resurrected by his Father. All resurrections took place on earth, giving us a glimpse of what is to come.... seeing our loved ones again! (Acts 24:15)
Until his promises are fulfilled, may Jehovah God continue to bless & comfort you as you cherish the many fond memories of Mr. Bowen in the days ahead.....

I've known the Bowen family since the 80's. Got to know and become friends with Elmer and Betty real well the last two years. My favorite war story: Elmer was in the "head." He noticed the Illinois newspaper another navy man was reading. Long story short, the guy next to him was a Bowen...I don't remember now if he was a cousin? Elmer got the biggest kick out of that. I always asked him to tell that story. Elmer was soft spoken. I never saw him angry. A sweet soul who will be missed by everyone who knew him. Cari
