Obituary of Wilson Bart Sherwood
Wilson Bartheld Sherwood, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on April 17, 2018 at the age of 84.
Bart was born on July 1, 1933 to Wilson and Ange Sherwood in McAlister, Oklahoma. At the age of 10, he moved to Yuma, Arizona. Bart attended Yuma High School and graduated in 1952 . He served in the army and after an honorable discharge he headed to San Diego, CA where he met the love of his life, Ruth. They married and moved back to Yuma, AZ to raise their daughters, Kriss, Karen and Kim. Bart and his "Lady "were married for 61 years. Bart worked as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service for 35 years. After retirement from the US Postal Service, they moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ in 2001.
Cooking was as one of Bart's passions. He was always volunteering to help in the kitchen at the Elks Lodge for Charity and youth activity events. He also loved being outdoors whether it was working in his yard, camping or fishing. Bart has been a loyal and committed member of Yuma Elks Lodge 476 for 48 years. He served as Exalted Ruler, District Deputy Exalted Ruler, and Past State President of the AEA. He also devoted his time to The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2269, Masons Yuma Lodge #17 A&AM, El Zaribah Shrine Club, and Lake Havasu City Elk's Lodge #2399 Past Exalted Ruler Association.
Bart is survived his wife, Ruth, daughters, Kriss Rico (Johnny Rico), Karen Dale (Don Reinhardt), and Kim Sherwood (Sue Baxter), his grandchildren, Ryan Dale and Kari Lofton and his great grandchildren, Khloe Dale and J.T. Lofton.
Services and Celebration of Life will be held at the LHC Elks Lodge, 3532 McCulloch Bld, Saturday, April 28, 2018 starting at 11:00 am.
