Please share a memory of Iosefo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
After 77 years as son, father, and grandfather, Iosefo Ikenasio Mu was called home on April 15, 2018. Survived by Ario Tanielu Mu, his wife of 53 years, daughters Kalala (Patrick) Toilolo, Fatima Mu, Siauli (Michael) Krog, and son Ioane Mu. Grandchildren: (Toilolo): Aloisia, Iosefo, Ierenimo (predeceased) Iosua, and Malia;(Krog) Lucky, Ian, and Gabriel; (Mu): Javinn Who was Iosefo Mu? During summer and winter breaks, our Mom would take us on daily adventures to visit family. We would first drop our dad off at work in Palo Alto, CA. At the time, we lived in San Jose. Happily situated between our home and our grandma's home is a beautiful Marian Shrine named Our Lady of Peace. We would spend our days visiting with our grandma, uncles, aunts and cousins until our Dad got off of work. Unfortunately, it was usually at one in the morning. We can still remember ... no matter how tired we were or cold it was outside ...even if we were deep in slumber, or pretending to be, to avoid having to leave the comfort of the warm car. We would always be gently awoken to say our prayers (on our knees) before the feet of Our Mother. The very minimum we'd pray as family is a decade of the rosary and Our Lady's Litany, but on good days we said the whole rosary and sang Marian songs before our journey home. Regardless of how tired we were from a day of play (as children), it seemed it was the least we could do especially knowing our dad has been at work all that time, and he was asking very little from us. He didn't just tell us, "Go do this" ... he led us. We still remember those delicate moments when in the midst of prayer either before Our Lady at the Shrine or at home our dad's voice would quiver. As kids looking to their dad, in tears while praying to Our Lady, an impression was made. We never asked why, but now we know that moments such as these are moments of special visitations. Although the morning air was cold in Northern California, it was nothing compared to the love of a father. So to answer the question, "Who was Iosefo Mu?" He was a son of Mary, a loving father, a gentle grandfather, who was far from perfect…yet faithful. To welcome our dad to eternity, we invite you to join us in prayer on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
