Obituary of Leonard Michal Hawkins
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Leonard Michal Hawkins, 72, in Lake Havasu City on April 12, 2018. Leonard, better known as Lenny, was born and raised in Scarborough, Canada by Henry and Dorothy Hawkins.
As a retired Metropolitan Toronto police officer, Lenny spent his retirement in the Arizona sun doing the things he loves; relaxing in his pool, fishing, boating and listening to old country music. After moving to Lake Havasu City in 1992, he became a permanent resident of the US to live out his retirement dreams.
Lenny is survived by his partner Barbara Piekaar, brothers Walter and Peter, loving children Roseanne VanHoof (Ron), Cathy Hawkins (Bill), Meagan Murdock (Steve) and John Hawkins (Greg); six grandchildren Eric Cunningham, Anna VanHoof, Cameron Murdock, Erika Murdock, Sheri Fox (Dave) and Leanne Millman; and three great grandchildren Julian Fox, Camron Fox and Victoria Fox. He was preceded in death by his parents and four other siblings.
A social butterfly, Lenny was a member of the Eagles, Anglers and Hunters Association and the Toronto Police Association for years. He loved spending time socializing, swimming, playing cards and going out in the boat with family, friends and loved ones. He was an extremely loving, compassionate and giving man. Lenny would always lend a hand, even when it wasn't asked for. He had a heart of gold and will be missed dearly.
As per his request, there will be no funeral service, but instead a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, April 18th at 2:00PM at 3290 Longview Drive in Lake Havasu City. His family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and condolences.
