Robert Nelson, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on March 20, 2018, at the age of 93.
Bob was born to Ira & Vivian Nelson in Wray, Colorado on November 8, 1924.
Bob attended East High School in Denver and graduated at the age of 16. In 1941, The Denver Post selected his photograph as "Colorado's symbol of the National Youth Administration". He attended Pueblo Junior College and the author, James Michener was his literature instructor.
In 1943 Bob enlisted in the US Navy where he was an aviator electronic tech working on the development of unmanned aircraft. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
On November 27, 1947 Bob married the love of his life, Betty Jane Carpenter at Eddie Malone's Wedding Chapel in Los Angeles. A loving father to four children, he was an entrepreneur and inventor. He has resided in Lake Havasu City since 1974.
Bob is survived by wife of 70 years, Betty; children, Bill, Luana, Rich, and Jan; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
