Obituary of Mark Richard Sleeman Sr

Mark R. Sleeman, Sr. "Hammer" passed away in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on March 11, 2018 while wintering out of state.

Mark's permanent residence is in Arbor Vitae, WI. He was retired from Wausau Sales Corporation in the auction and appraisal business and lived in Merrill, WI from 1990 through 2016.

Mark was born on November 8, 1947 in Woodburn, Oregon to parents Marshall and Phyllis (Bergsbaken) Sleeman.

In 1965, Mark graduated from Clackamas High School in Clackamas, Oregon. In February 1967, Mark entered the US Army and served through February 1969.

July 18, 1970, Mark married his wife Mindy Weygandt in Clintonville, WI.

Mark loved pontooning, Harley Davidson motorcycles, classic cars, country music and making people laugh. Pabst Blue Ribbon was his signature beverage in his earlier days. Mark loved to watch Nascar, bowl, golf, shoot pool and just enjoy his many friends and family.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Marshall and Phyllis Sleeman, brother Jack Sleeman, niece Toni Sleeman, grandbaby Logon Sleeman, mother-in-law Nancy Weygandt, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mark is survived by his wife Mindy, son Mark Jr. and Heather Sleeman, daughter Kelly Sleeman, brother Larry and Lori Sleeman of Philomath, Oregon, sister-in-law Donna Sleeman of Oregon, grandchildren Shelby Sleeman, Erica Sleeman and her partner Joe Burt and Riley Sleeman, father-in-law Lewis Weygandt, brother-in-law’s Bob and Laurie Weygandt, Mike and Christa Weygandt and Scott Weygandt of Wisconsin, his three nephews Josh and Amy Sleeman, Mitchell and Cora Sleeman, and Trevor and Gillian Sleeman, and his 6 great nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Woodruff, WI at Nimsgern Funeral Home. Visitation starts at 10:00 am; the service begins at 11:00 am with a light reception to follow, closing at 2:00 pm. Come and celebrate the life of a great guy who touched our hearts with love and laughter. We will share fun times together. Just as Mark would want us to do together.
