Obituary of Karen Patricia Kalchert
On February 15th, 2018 Karen Patricia Kalchert left this world for a new life in heaven. For all who knew her, she will be forever remembered for her light, strength, faith, and heart.
Karen was born on March 5, 1950 in Lynwood, CA, to parents Richard and Patricia Kalchert. She was a beloved sister to her siblings Katherine, Richard, Constance, Cynthia, Linda, and Terrance, for whom she cared for unyieldingly. She was an amazing mother to her three daughters Marnie, Stephanie, and Laura, who love her endlessly, and for whom her love was unbounding. She was the best Grammy to her seven wonderful grandchildren Andrew, Nolan, Tommy, Nick, Nathan, Gabby, and Grace, and her great granddaughter Alaina. For others, Karen was a beautiful aunt, cousin, wife, and dear friend.
Karen lived with an artist's eye and a gift for creativity. She could make something beautiful out of anything, be it a rusty tin can-turned decor, a paper and pencil sketch, or handmade costumes for her babies. She was adventurous and inspired by the beauty of nature, and collected memories through rocks, shells, leaves, or photographed footprints in the sand. She knew how to have fun, loved music and dancing, and could do a mean James Brown impression. She had a sense of humor that could bring you to tears, and a smile that could brighten a room. She was brave, and a fighter, and even through difficult days, she lived with hope and faith and an incredible love for God.
In her life, Karen touched, supported, and inspired so many with her limitless strength, warmth, and love. Though she is no longer with us, her beautiful spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those who knew her.
We love you Karen and we will miss you.
Until we meet again.
As it is, these remain: faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:13
My precious child, I love you and will never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, When you saw only one set of footprints in the sand,
It was then that I carried you.
- Mary Stevenson
