Obituary of Robert Eugene Winters
Robert Eugene Winters, born to Tommy and Julia Winters on October 11, 1927, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2018, at the age of 90.
Robert, a World War II Veteran, served as a Private in the Army. He worked in the coal mines of Kansas prior to and shortly after his service. He earned the Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and was honorably discharged in December 1946. He moved to California in 1955 where he began his career with General Motors as a high-low driver on the production line. Robert retired to Camp Verde, Arizona in 1983 and moved to Lake Havasu City in 1990.
He is now rejoined with the love of his life, Jacqueline, who preceded him in death, in October of 2005.
He is survived by his beloved dog Bailey, his children Steven, Debbi, Sandy, Tim, Danny, and Tom along with their spouses. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Bash. He has 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren, with his most recent born of February 6, 2018.
Robert was blessed to have many, many friends and will be missed by all, especially Zack and Tracie Davis. Thank you to Lake Havasu Hospice for providing assistance, support and excellent end of life care.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
