Obituary of Billy Jack McCoy
Billy "Bill" Jack McCoy, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away, January 27, 2018. He was born, January 24, 1933, in Lubbock, Texas.
Graduating from Austin High School in El Paso, Texas, he then went to work for El Paso Natural Gas. He served in the military and returned to the gas company to start his future. He traveled with the company from El Paso to Tucson, Arizona, where he met Jane Smith. They moved their family to Topock, Arizona until 1973 when they moved back to El Paso. After a short time, he was transferred to Phoenix, Arizona and then back to Topock, where he finished his career of 35 years with the gas company.
Bill and Janie moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1987. He was never one to sit around and he became a Realtor in Lake Havasu City. Bill and his family spent time fishing/boating on the Colorado River, he also enjoyed wood working, refinishing furniture, and mastered the art of pit BBQ. He was very active in the community. He enjoyed watching University of Arizona games and the Phoenix Suns. Most of all he enjoyed his family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Ellen McCoy and his sister, Helen Savage, of Austin Texas.
He is survived by his sister, Armeta (Jerry) Oldaker, of Midland, Texas; brothers, Dean (Mary Lou) Moon, of El Paso, Texas and Don (Gin) Smith, of San Diego, California; children, Steve McCoy, Lori (Gene) Suiter, Craig (Darlene) McCoy; seven grandchildren, Chuck (Liz) Suiter, Bill (Kelly) Suiter, Matt (Hailey) McCoy, Taylor McCoy, Kyle (Mary) McCoy, Tyler McCoy, Samantha McCoy, and eight great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be at 12:00pm on February 17, 2018 at the Realtor Center, at 2293 Swanson Avenue, Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to have donations made to Hospice of Havasu and/or Havasu Interagency Food Bank.
We would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Havasu for providing exceptional service for him and our family.
