Obituary of Shannon Kay Drummond-Larson
Shannon Drummond-Larson passed away on January 19, 2018 at her home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born on October 13, 1951 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Lorn and Peggy Drummond, and was one of five children.
She went to Oregon College of Education, majoring in primary education. She later worked for the city of Salem, Oregon in the Water Department for many years. She also volunteered at the Women's Crisis Center in many capacities. She loved music, reading, traveling, and cooking.
In 2000, Shannon and her partner, Shay Larson moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona to help care for Shay's elderly parents. Shannon was supportive of Shay's involvement in the Havasu Military Moms.
Shannon was very quick witted, funny, had a kind heart, and a phenomenal memory for trivia.
On November 29, 2014, Shay and Shannon were married at their home after a twenty year partnership.
Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, Lorn and Peggy and her brother, Tim.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Shay Larson; brothers, Dave (Nancy) Drummond and Mike Drummond; sister, Bobbi Staebler; sister-in-law, Charlene Pruden; step-son, David Larson and his family, including four grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Any donations in Shannon's name can be made to The Women's Crisis Center in Salem, Oregon, or her beloved staff at River Valley Hospice in Lake Havasu City.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Vashon Island Cemetery, in Vashon Island, Washington.
