Obituary of Wana Ruth Spencer
Wana Spencer, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away after a long illness, on Thursday, January 18, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 27, 1932 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to her parents, Benjamin and Martha Walkup. She was 85 years of age.
Wana’s family moved to Watsonville, California when she was young and she spent most of her life in Marina, California. Growing up in Marina, California, she had a good life where she spent it with her first husband, Bennie, who passed away in 1995. In 1997, she married Joe Spencer and moved to the beautiful town of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where they made it their permanent residence.
Wana was a loving and caring woman. She was in the daycare field for many years and there are several children that have called her Grandma over the years. She was loved by many and anyone who knew her, knew she was a special lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Martha Walkup; first husband, Bennie Crisel; sons, Bennie Herman and Kenneth Ray; brothers, Bill, Bennie, and Danny; sister, Anita; granddaughter, Wendi Michelle Bishop, and great-granddaughter, Amber Dawn.
Wana is survived by her husband, Joe Spencer; children, Roy (Josie) Crisel, Helen (Paul) Murphy, Wanita (Paul) Westwood, and Denise (Toby) Bishop; brothers, Wayne and David; sisters, Sharline and Shirline; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren along with many more nieces and nephews.
Wana is greatly loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
