Obituary of Florence Louise Anderson
Florence Louise Anderson, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on January 20, 2018. She was born on September 28, 1921 in Tipton, Kansas to her parents, James and Mabel Houghton. She was 96 years of age.
Florence decided to pursue her dreams to further her education, so after graduating high school she went on to college where she earned her Bachelor's Degree. She was a homemaker and proud mother to three children, and later became the head of operations for Winter Park, Colorado ski area complex and later became head of operations at a hotel in Marion, Kansas.
She resided in many different cities in the United States: Tipton, Kansas, Baytown, Texas, Denver, Colorado, Winter Park, Colorado, Marion, Kansas, Newton, Kansas, and finally making Lake Havasu City, Arizona her permanent residence.
Florence loved reading and following Geneology, which she found fascinating. She was also very involved in the Methodist Church as well as being a member of the Methodist Women's Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mabel Houghton; Husband, Van Anderson; sons, Dale and Bruce; brother, Clifford Houghton and grandson, Shawn Roe.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Roe, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; sisters, Lois Gillan, of Tempe, Arizona and Margaret Warren, of McPherson, Kansas, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Florence loved her entire family and was always writing little notes to family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
Services will be at 10:00AM on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Drinkwine Mortuary in Littleton, Colorado with Graveside to follow at 12:30PM at Ft. Logan Cemetery.
