Obituary of Paul Allen Koch
Paul "Doc" Allen Koch, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away, January 21, 2018. He was born March 29, 1946 in Buffalo, New York to parents, Allen and Jane Koch. He was 71 years of age.
Paul was born/raised in Buffalo, New York from 1946-1967. In 1967, Paul and Caroline were united in marriage in Dinuba, California on June 4. Paul set his goal towards attending Andrews University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He continued his college career and attended the University of Notre Dame where he received a Masters Degree in Political Science, continuing at Georgetown University, he earned his PHD in Political Science. He accepted a job offer as a professor at Columbia Union College (1970-1980). In 1980 he began working at Lunsford Law where he was part of the legal research team. In 1988 he became a Professor at Mohave Community College, In Lake Havasu City, Arizona, until he retired in 2013.
Paul resided in many different places around the United States: Buffalo, New York (1946-1967), South Bend, Indiana (1967-1969), Takoma Park, Maryland (1969-1980), Loma Linda, California (1980-1988) and finally Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he and wife, Caroline became permanent residents.
Paul enjoyed playing paintball, watching and reading about military history, traveling, model soldiers, and watching his favorite John Wayne movies. He was President of the Republican Men's Club of Lake Havasu City, Arizona from 2009-2016, founded the Potomac Wargamers club, and was a "patched" member of Headhunters Tournament Paintball team.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Jane Koch; brother, Bruce Koch.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Caroline Koch; son, David Koch; daughter, Gillian Gomez, and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 12:00PM on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home with a service to follow at 1:00PM.
Graveside services/internment will be at 3:00PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton, California.
Donations can be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice or Western Arizona Humane Society.
