Obituary of Dan Lasson Barney
Dan Lasson Barney, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on January 11, 2018. He was born on August 30, 1953 in Provo, Utah. He was 64 years of age.
Dan spent his childhood in Birdseye, Utah. After graduating, he lived in Sandy, Utah for ten years, moving to the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho area for another 5 years before a move to Spokane Valley, Washington. Dan met his wife, Vallerie, and on July 4, 1997, they were married in Conkling Park, Idaho. Dan and Vallerie decided it was time to retire in 2006 so they headed for Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where they spent eleven years of the good life. They spent their summers on Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in their lake house.
Dan enjoyed many things in his lifetime, those of which included, going boating, reading, and watching professional sports. He also loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Nellie Barney; grandparents, Andrew Adolphus/Mabel Sorensen Lasson and Royal and Lily Moosman Barney; nieces, JoAnna and Kayla Anderson and sister-in-law, Laurie Barney.
Dan is survived by his wife of twenty years, Vallerie Barney; sons, Nathan (Vanessa) Barney, of Las Vegas, Nevada and Michael (Lisa) Curry, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; daughters, Megan (Mike) Bruhn and LaRae (Jeff) Curry Long, of Spokane, Washington; brothers, Phil (Pat) Barney, of Spanish Fork, Utah, Mark Barney, of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Paul Barney, of Ridgecrest, California; sisters, Karen Bradford, of Spanish Fork, Utah and Stacy (Cory) Anderson, of Danville, California and four grandchildren.
