Obituary of Kathleen Prophet Champaigne
Kathleen "Kay" Prophet Champaigne, 66, lost her battle with cancer on January 17, 2018 at her home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Kathleen Ashton Prophet was born in Norwalk, Connecticut. She attended Thomas School in Norwalk, and went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut. Upon graduating from UCONN, she chose banking as her career and was connected with several banks throughout Connecticut.
Kay married Raymond Champaigne, also of Norwalk, in June of 1977. She became step-mother to Ray's three children and took on the responsibility with much love and devotion. Kay moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ with her husband in July of 1996. She was a volunteer for Hospice of Havasu for over 15 years and named volunteer of the year in 2005. She was a natural athlete, enjoyed every sport and had a big heart for animals. Her husband and three step-children were at her bedside when she passed.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Sink Prophet and father, Wilson Brown Prophet.
Kay is survived by her husband, Raymond, three step-children and their families; brothers, Douglas and Thomas Prophet and their families.
