October 11, 1924 – December 30, 2017

Richard E. (Dick) Willett, longtime resident of Lake Havasu, AZ, passed away at Hospice of Lake Havasu on Saturday, December 30, 2017.

Willett was born in Tab, Indiana and spent his early life in the Midwest. Following high school, Willett served in the US Army from February 1943 to January 1946. He was assigned to the Quarter Master Corp. where he earned three bronze stars.

Prior to moving to Lake Havasu, Willett lived in southern California, where he met Edna Palmer. They were married in 1981. He worked for McDonald Douglas, in Monrovia, as a Manufacturing Supervisor. Following retirement, he and Edna operated a small traveling ice cream concession, known as "Willies Walkies", where they worked several small county fairs throughout California. In there free time they enjoyed RVing and had numerous camp outings to Mountain Lakes Resort. They moved to Lake Havasu in 1994 and quickly became part of the community.

He was active in the Elks, VFW, and the American Legion. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling and golf.

Willett is survived by his wife Edna Willett; son, Michael (Libby); daughter, Vera Mount (Dan); step-son, Dennis Palmer (Randy); step-son, Daryl Palmer (Jessica); step-daughter, Denise Palmer, and eight grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life at the Mountain View Club House on February 10, 2018 at 11am.
