Mark was my first true love. We dated from the time I was 14 until I was 19. We shared many sweet experiences—like riding with Ruth Lauffer to Katherine Kuhlman rallies in Pittsburgh, to motorcycle rides, to Youth for Christ camp, to Friday night YFC rallies, to being in the same dorm (Lake Hall) at KSU, to speaking German together, to him catching up with me in his Mustang and walking me home from high school. I am shocked and sad that he has left this life so early. I never thought that he’d be gone so soon. Mark was good at giving gifts. Perhaps it was his language of love. I’ll never forget the big bouquet of red roses he gave me on my 16th and 18th birthdays. Or the Hungarian doll he brought me from Europe. Or the money he sent our beloved Al Wilkes a few years ago to thank him for being such a wonderful Christian youth leader for us and many at Youth for Christ in downtown Akron. I really hope to see Mark in heaven.

Mark took care of my Mom and Dads investments for years. He was a friend of our family and joined us in Kansas for Thanksgiving a couple of years. My dad, John Heydenreich, was credited with getting Mark started in the business. My mom, Virginia passed away in Sept. and Mark was truly grief stricken, as they had formed a brother/sister type relationship. He was so patient with her, even when her dementia progressed.
Please know that we share your grief over Mark's death. He will be greatly missed by my family.

Mark has been my good friend for 32 years. He is one of the most interesting and brilliant people I’ve ever met. We met when I was a teacher and he was selling annuities to teachers in Ventura County, California. He shared his family stories and brought Asher and Billy to California for visits from Arizona so that I felt like a member of the family, Aunt Ann as he would call me.
As a financial advisor, he guided me on a path to a very comfortable retirement. I will be forever grateful.
I will miss Mark as a dear friend. Although he moved to Arizona, we talked, laughed a lot and shared life experiences often.
He loved and was proud of his children.
My life has been richer and more interesting because he has been a part of it. I will miss him.
