Obituary of Lawrence Anthony Blaeser
Lawrence A. Blaeser SR., Captain, Chicago Fire Department passed away suddenly on December 28, 2017, at the age of 87.
Larry was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 17, 1930 to Lawrence and Elizabeth Blaeser. Larry served in the United States Army from June, 1951 to May, 1953.
Born and raised in Chicago, Larry met and married the one love of his life, Joan, in September of 1954. Together, they raised three children.
After 28 dedicated years as a Chicago Firefighter, Larry retired and moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He and Joan spent many years enjoying retirement prior to Joan's death in March of 2010.
Larry enjoyed going to the gym and fishing. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and was an active member of Our Lady of the Lake, Roman Catholic Church.
Larry leaves behind three children; Larry (Linda) Blaeser, Dan (Isabel) Blaeser and Laurie (Harlan) Fuller, four grandchildren; Erin (Nick) Harlacher, Lisa Powell, Kelly Powell and Luke Blaeser, and one great grandchild, Willow Harlacher.
Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Joan Blaeser, his sister, Betty Hartley and his parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Blaeser.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
