Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Allen
Mary Allen, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on December 30, 2017. She was born on March 20, 1920 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Otis and Jessie E. Graue. She was 97 years of age.
Born in Arkansas, her parents decided to move to Whittier, California and as a young school girl, Richard Nixon was her school bus driver for a short amount of time. She spent most of her time residing in California; Whittier, Hawthorne, Torrance, Palm Desert, Yucca Valley, Sun City, Menifee and then finally making her permanent move to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. While living in California, Mary was a grocery checker and in 1957 retired from the industry.
Mary had many interests and was quite the World traveler. She traveled to exotic places, such as, Mexico City, China, Tahiti, Mediterranean Countries, Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany, Alaska, Hawaii, and all over the continental United States. She also loved to sew, listen to her favorite music (Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Johnny Mathis) and mostly spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by her son, Robert Cloer, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; six grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00PM on February 10, 2018 at the London Bridge Resort, Sunset Room.
