Billy Dale Thrasher passed away December 20, 2017 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona at the age of 79. He was born to Harold and Margaret Thrasher on April 17, 1938 in Braman, Oklahoma.
Billy moved with his family to California as a young boy. He met the love of his life, Carol Ann Walch in Long Beach and they were married May 1, 1959. They were blessed with 37 years of marriage before Carol went to be with the Lord. He was a member of the Pile Drivers Union Local 2375 of Wilmington, California and participated in the building of the Los Angeles Subway as well as the building and re-building of the Long Beach and LA Harbor. Additionally he built multiple off shore drilling platforms up and down the coast of Southern California.
He enjoyed boating, dancing, being on the river and spending time in his garage. He was a proud father and grandfather who never missed a single baseball, football, softball, or cheerleading practice or game. In 2010, Billy moved to Havasu to live with his daughter Linda where they have shared love and laughter as she provided care for him. Billy worshiped at Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Billy is preceded in death by his wife; Carol Thrasher, his parents; Harold and Margaret Thrasher, and his brothers; Don, Jack and Dennis Thrasher.
He is survived by his daughters; Cheryl Ann and Linda Kay Thrasher, his sister Kaye (Carl) Boozeman, his grandchildren; Angela, Kenny, Michael, Nicole, Candice, Troy, Jonathan and Michelle, as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Lake Havasu City on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 am.
