Hal Hamilton was a great, patriotic American. He and Helene were passionate about the future of our country and invested generously in educating young people.
In 2000, early in the effort by Young America's Foundation to save and preserve Ronald Reagan's beloved home, Rancho del Cielo, in Santa Barbara, California, Hal & Helene stepped forward to support this national treasure with a generous gift. They wanted to make sure Ronald Reagan's legacy and conservative ideas were passed down to future generations.
In 2002, when the the Reagan Ranch Center, the Schoolhouse for Reaganism, was built, they stepped forward again to make this education center a reality with generous gifts to sponsor the Hal & Helene Hamilton Reagan Ranch Curator's Office and the Hal & Helene Hamilton Reagan Ranch Archives.
For over a decade, Mr. Hamilton's loyal support provided sponsorships for high school and college students to attend conferences and seminars at the Reagan Ranch and around the country.
Thanks to Mr. Hamilton, the lives of students were inspired forever as they learned about the conservative principles and values he held so dear: limited government, strong national defense, free enterprise, individual responsibility, and traditional values.
All of us at Young America's Foundation are forever grateful for the tremendous impact his philanthropy had on the lives of so many high school and college students. Hal and Helene have left a lasting, permanent legacy of saving the Reagan Ranch and educating young people who will become the future leaders of our country.
It has been an honor and privilege to know and partner with such an honorable, generous, and patriotic American as Hal Hamilton.
Our sincere sympathies go out to all of the family and friends of Mr. Hamilton.
