Obituary of John Edward Story

John passed away at Serenity House in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on Saturday, Nov 19, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born in South Gate, CA on November 10, 1928, to parents, Lloyd & Carrie Story. John Attended University High School in Los Angeles. He met Barbara Nichols, his sweetheart, who became his wife in August of 1948. Over the years, they lived in Culver City, Downey, Lakeport, before settling in Lake Havasu City, AZ full time. They celebrated 48 loving years of marriage, until she passed in 1996. John was A Supervisor at GoodYear Tire & Rubber Co. in Los Angeles. John & Barbara Story were friends with Jim & Barbara Van Cleave. John & Jim were always tinkering around the garage and began building boats and making their own water ski's, in 1951. The Van Cleaves and the Story's spent weekends at Marine Stadium in Long Beach, CA. Each summer, both families traveled to Bass Lake, CA where all the children learned to Water Ski. John met a beautiful woman, Faye Tuerschmann and they fell in love and were married in 2001. They enjoyed many vacations together, traveled on cruise ships and loved every minute of their travels to far away places. John enjoyed boating, camping, off-roading and spending time with family and friends. John is survived by his wife, Faye of 16 years, Daughter Teri (Dyrck), Daughter Melissa (Bob), 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and his beloved dog, Lexi. John loved his family and cherished every friendship.
