Obituary of Robert Leo West
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bob passed away at home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the age of 82. He was born on November 5, 1935 in Great Falls, Montana to parents, George W. and Angela L. (Palien) West.
Bob was a veteran, honorably discharged from both the Navy Reserves and the U.S. Army. He attended college at Montana State University, the University of Denver and the University of Northern Colorado. Bob worked for Xerox Corporation where he met and married Mary Virginia (Ginny) Cassidy in 1963. While living in Denver CO, Cheyenne WY, Englewood CO, and Indian Hills CO, they had four children. After moving to Montrose CO, Bob left Xerox and opened Columbine Copy Center with the first color copier on Colorado's western slope. Bob and Ginny retired to Lake Havasu City AZ in 1998. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, and American Legion organizations.
Bob was a life-long learner, reader, music lover, photographer, cook, gym member, and golfer. His patience, kindness, intelligence, interest in others, friendly demeanor, sense of humor, and smile will be deeply missed. Anyone who knew Bob is just a little better for having known him and he would say the same about all the people that he had the pleasure of knowing during his lifetime.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Ginny and parents.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer Burnet, Laura (Jack) Kriss, Sheila Lind, and Robert G. West; grandchildren, Kathryn Burnet, Erin Burnet, Mallory Kriss, Emily Kriss, Carl Lind, Kayla Jaworksi, Ashley Culkins, Owen West, and Spencer West; siblings, Barbara (Tim) Thieme, H.
