Family of Mr. Aldridge,
While I did not know Mr. Aldridge, I too have experienced the loss of a loved one. It is times like this that reminders of God's promises regarding death and the resurrection serve to provide hope, a measure of peace and comfort. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Death was not God’s purpose for mankind and his purpose has not changed. God’s word says 'death is an enemy' and promises it will be 'brought to nothing'. (1Corinthians 15:26) Psalm 34:18 says, "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." So, God does care about our pain and grief so much so that he guarantees the restoration of life.
Further, Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life...” ( John 11:25) Jesus not only spoke of the coming resurrection (John 5:21, 28, 29), he himself was resurrected by his Father and performed many miracles including resurrections. So, all resurrections took place here on earth giving us assurance of what is to come.
God guarantees us that the grief and sorrow we experience is temporary. (Revelation 21:4) Because God is a promise keeper (Titus 1:2), we will have the prospect of seeing our loved ones again! (Acts 24:15) These truths not only provide hope for the future but serve to comfort us even now.
As you cherish the many fond memories of Mr. Aldridge, may Jehovah God continue to bless your family in the days to come.........
