James "Jim" A. Slome
August 6, 1956 – November 2, 2017
Jim Slome, Of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on November 2, 2017. He was born on August 6, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, to his parents, Irving and Amelia Slome. Jim was the younger of the two boys. He was 61 years of age.
Jim attended Northwestern Business College in Chicago, Illinois, for two years, majoring in Business Administration. From there Jim worked in Sales at several companies. Jim was employed at Geo T. Schmidt, in Chicago, Illinois from 1977-1980, where he met his soon to be wife, Sharon Ring. They became Mr. and Mrs. Slome on December 27, 1980. For a honeymoon, they drove out to Orange County, California for Jim was transferred from inside sales to outside sales, with the company Maple Roll Leaf.
In 2000, Jim started the family business, Western Decorating Technologies, which was a distributor of hot stamping foil. In November of 2015, Jim moved his family and Western Decorating from Riverside, California to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Jim was semi-retired, "So he says", however, you could always see him doing something in the shop, building something in the house, moving furniture or in the yard planting flowers.
He was preceded in Heaven by his parents, Irving and Amelia Slome and his older brother.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Sharon; his daughter, Tiffani and his son, Kyle.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
