Obituary of Bruce Rowland Porter

Bruce R. Porter was born to Elizabeth Jane (Hester) Porter and J. Kenneth Porter on August 22, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri. Bruce passed away on October 12, 2017 at the age of 82.
The family moved to Santa Ana, California three years later. Bruce graduated high school at Santa Ana. Bruce married twice that ended in divorce and produced four children; Mark, Kimberly, Molly, and Kelly.
Bruce entered the US Army in 1955, teaching Special Operation Units at different bases in the US at headquarters in Paris, France and studied martial arts in Korea. Along with his reserve years, he spent 8 years with the Army and was proud to serve, earning an Honorable Discharge. After military service, Bruce went to Long Beach State on the G.I. Bill and achieved a BA. Most of his working career was spent with Ford Motor Company, reaching Regional Parts Manager for the Western States. He traveled to many dealerships, setting up new parts departments.
In Missoula, Montana, Bruce met his love, Pam Dalton and on June 17, 1978 they became one. After moving to Washington State, they bought a boat and made Puget Sound their home for many years.
After visiting the Colorado River area several winters, Lake Havasu City was picked for their retirement years. Bruce, his mother, and Pam moved here 20 years ago. Bruce loved being a member of the Elks #2399 and lunched there weekly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Kenneth Porter and daughter, Molly Garcia.
Bruce is survived by Pam; son, Mark Porter; daughters, Kim Coenen and Kelly Porter; Pam's family; grandchildren, Lliam Porter, Kaley (Travis) Perry, Rebecca (Chris) McNelis, Kyle Coenen; three great-grandchildren, with another on the way and cousin, Sandra Schneider.
Per his request, there will be no service, but he would be glad to know you had a Bloody Mary for him.
