Obituary of Georgeine Kupfer

Georgeine Evelyn Kupfer (Weiss) passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the age of 84. Georgeine was born on September 30, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey to Otto and Hazel(Cort) Weiss. Georgeine grew up in Union, New Jersey and would to go to the Jersey Shore in the summer, which began her love of the ocean and walking on the beach! She married the love of her life, Richard (AKA Dick) Kupfer, on September 1, 1950. During their 61 years of married life, they lived in many states starting out in Miami, Florida where Dick attended the University of Miami. They started their family there, and Georgeine so enjoyed being a housewife and wonderful Mom to their three sons. Over the years, they lived the longest periods of time in Florida, Wisconsin, and Arizona. They moved to Lake Havasu City in 1975 and stayed until 1991, when they retired to Ft Pierce, Florida and could look out everyday at the ocean and seagulls Georgeine so loved! They moved back to Lake Havasu City in 2007 to be closer to family. The family would like to give special thanks to Fresenius Medical Care, Lake Havasu Dialysis, and their wonderful staff for the excellent care and kindness they provided to Georgeine for the past five years. Many thanks also to the staff at Prestige at Claremont for their great care this past year. Hospice of Havasu has been such a blessing for Georgeine and her family in the final months of her life, showing such great compassion and care. We are thankful her final days at the Hospice of Havasu Polidori House provided such a beautiful and peaceful setting. Georgeine is survived by her sons, Michael Kupfer(JoAnne) of Lake Havasu City; James Kupfer(Cynthia) of Franklin,WI; and Robert Kupfer(Yvette) of Kingman, AZ; sister, Ellie Torr(Weiss) of Livingston,NJ; brother, Arney Weiss(Betty) of New Providence, NJ; sister-in-law, Irma Lloyd of Albuquerque,NM; Grandchildren, Kari Thompson(Karl), Kimberly Gregory(Jake), Shane Kupfer, Yale Kupfer, Bailey Kupfer, and Zoe Kupfer; and Great Grandchildren Taylor, Tyler, Trevor, Logan and Makenna, and many nieces & nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto & Hazel Weiss, her beloved Husband, Richard Kupfer; sister Hazel(Bill) Brandt, brother-in-law, Nick Torr & nephew, Nicky Torr.
