In loving memory of the passing of LaVonne Joyce Wanker, resident of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, who departed this life September 5, 2017. LaVonne was born on September 17, 1936 in Wakeeny, Kansas. After graduating from high school she was united in marriage on March 4, 1954 to Ray N. Wanker. Ray and LaVonne made their home in Hill City, KS until 1969 when they moved their family to Westminster, CO. LaVonne worked in sales at Montgomery Wards and years before she retired, worked with her husband Ray as bookkeeper and assistant in his automobile wholesale business. In 2001 they retired and moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ. LaVonne was a 62 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a dual member with Millbrook Chapter #108 of Hill City, KS and Lake Havasu Chapter #61. LaVonne always found time to give herself to her family and friends. She was a beloved wife and mother who is survived by four children: Toni Jo Wanker, Lake Havasu, AZ; Elaine Mariani, Denver, CO; Bruce Wanker and his wife Kim, Spokane, WA; Mark Wanker and his wife Lucille, Westminster, CO; six grandchildren: Devin and Shauna Wanker, William Mariani and his wife Danielle, Mark Wanker and his wife Audrey, Nicklaus Wanker and his wife Angie, Megan Huxford and her husband Brian, six great grandchildren: Savanna and Olandris Mariani, Holden and Leelan Wanker, Sofia Wanker, Claire Huxford. LaVonne loved life and enjoyed spending time with the love of her life of 56 years, whether it was an ATV ride out into the desert or just spending time with her family doing various activities. In their retirement years they were blessed with wonderful new friends that shared in Taco Mondays, riding ATVs, pool parties, playing board and card games or going with the girls to water aerobics. LaVonne was preceded in death by her husband Ray N. Wanker, first son Donald "Butch" Wanker, her father and mother LaVerne and Minnie Hillman, Forrest and Elberta Wanker, her brother Ronald Hillman; her granddaughter Nichole Mariani. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in LaVonne's memory to Hospice of Havasu or the Hospice of Havasu Polidori House.
