Obituary of Gordon Hume Denekas

Gordon Denekas, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on August 26, 2017. He was born on September 8, 1953, to his parents, Milton and Laura Denekas in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 63 years of age. After graduating from high school, Gordon decided to further his education and attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. Gordon ended his working career when he retired as an Internal Revenue Service Agent. He met Margaret Thebeault, and they were married in Houston, Texas, on January 21, 1981. They lived in Waller, Texas, where he raised his four children on their small farm. Gordon was an Eagle Scout, Sea Scout, a Trinity Alumni, and most importantly, of the Christian faith. He enjoyed art, animals, kids, music, cars, traveling, spending time in the outdoors, and the unusual. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Laura Denekas. Gordon is survived by the mother of his children, Margaret Thebeault, of Lake Havasu city, Arizona; sons, Anthony Denekas, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Dustin Denekas, of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters, Angela Allison, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Lisa Thompson, of San Marcos, Texas; brothers, Alan Denekas, of Roanoke, Virginia, and Brian Denekas, of Oregon; and seven grandchildren. Gordon was a special man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Burial Service will be at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens on September 8, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
