Obituary of Michael Whalen

Tony Whalen passed away on January 25, 2013 after a short illness in Lake Havasu City. Tony was loved by so many and will be missed by all. Tony grew up in the Winterhaven, CA. area. Graduated from San Pasqual High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart Carole Michelle. Tony and Michelle shared their life in the Yuma area for many years. Their dream was to move to Lake Havasu City, AZ. And they were able to move there in 2005. Tony enjoyed many days on the lake doing what he loved, fishing. He told many a tale where the fish always ended up larger each time the story was told. Tony spent his career in the Agricultural community in the Yuma area. At the time of his passing he was General Manager of Ag Tech LLC. In the early years of his career Tony and Michelle owned various agricultural businesses. During this time wonderful lifelong friendships were formed. Tony was consulted on so many aspects of farming and always exceeded the expectations. He mentored many in the AG community. His loss will be felt for a very long time. Tony is survived by his loving wife Michelle whose heart will never be full without you Tony. He is also survived by his immediate family of his brother Mike and wife Rose, his sister Kathy and husband Dave, and sister Colleen and husband EJ and little sis Susie, his little brother Jim and wife Mia. He is also survived by his mother in law Carole, sister in law Paula and husband Jamie, brother in law Kevin and sister in law Johanna, his special "moms" Barbara and Janie and his buddies Robert, Mike W., Neil and so many other special friends. You all were wonderful to Tony and he loved each and every one of you. A very large light will not be here for us to see but Tony will always be a part of our lives. Remember the good laughs, his great stories and the way he lit up a room. Services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Lake Havasu City on Wednesday January 30, 2013. Visitation 10:00-1100 am with service at 11:00am. Please bring some of your great memories to the service to share with others, he would have loved that.
