Mary Lou Myers, September 20, 1937 – August 9, 2017
Mary Lou Bundy Myers passed away on August 9, 2017 in Lake Havasu City. She was born to Fred and Bessie (Shults) Bundy, the seventh of seven children, in Norman, Oklahoma on September 20, 1937. Mary Lou's family came to California in 1937 when she was six weeks old. Yes, they were "Dust Bowl Okies" and she was proud of that. She grew up in Bakersfield, California and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1955.
Mary Lou married Robert L. "Bob" Myers on November 29, 1958 in Bakersfield, California. Her greatest love was her family and she and Bob had three children. Steven (Kim) Myers, Beth (Brad) Ward, and Christine (Loderick) Matthews.
Because of her sunny disposition and sense of humor, she had friends all across the country. She was a homemaker who, when she wasn't at a casino, devoted herself to friends and family.
Mary Lou is survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren and they were the love of her life. Her grandchildren are Jessica, Stephanie, Scott (Amber) and Lindsey Myers; Robert (Shannon) Ward, Marybeth (Mitch) Tucker, Mallory Ward, and Garrett and Caris Matthews. Her great-grandchildren are Kaila, Remy, Dallas, Conner and Daxton.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Myers, three children, a brother Kenneth (Gloria) Bundy, a brother-in-law Floyd Martin, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 11:00 am.
