Obituary of Karl Uno Brostrom
Karl Brostrom of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away on July 10, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born to Bror and Hanna (Lindfors) Brostrom in Chicago, Illinois on November 12, 1928.
Karl served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He met the love of his life, Jean Musgrave and was blessed to marry her on December 29, 1951. They shared 65 wonderful years together raising a family, working hard and enjoying life. Karl was a plasterer by trade until 1959; then moved to California where he had his own business doing drapery and window treatments. He installed window treatments all over Los Angeles County where he was very well liked and respected for his outstanding custom work. He had many fun antidotes about his interactions with Hollywood's famous folks.
Baseball, fishing and bowling were some of his enjoyed past times. He loved to do crossword puzzles. He was long time member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion. He belonged to the Moose Lodge as well.
Karl is preceded in death by his parents; Bror and Hanna Brostrom, his daughter; Lori Ann Jones, and his sister; Ingrid Stollmeyer.
He is survived by his loving wife; Jean Brostrom, his son; Gary Brostrom, his sister-in-law; Anita Anderson; niece, Christina Anderson-Denton; nephew, Lance Anderson Jr.; son-in-law Craig Jones; three step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Elks Lodge on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu in Karl's name.
