Obituary of Donald Walter Chitry

Donald Walter Chitry, Jr. left this earth to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 13, 2017. He passed away peacefully at this home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, with his loving wife and six children by his side. Don was born on January 28, 1949 in El Cajon, California to Donald Walter Chitry, Sr. and Lois Scott. Don was one of six children. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country proudly for three years. In 1973, Don met the love of his life, Audrey and shortly after, made her his wife. Don fathered six children whom he loved dearly: April, Laurie, Cheyenne, Donny, Juliene, and Tommy. His six children blessed him with nineteen grandchildren, who referred to him as their Papa. Don worked in the grocery industry for forty years and retired from his career at the age of 61. He enjoyed his retirement spending his days on the lake with his wife, Audrey, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It is without a doubt that Don Chitry's time here on this earth impacted so many lived in a positive way. He was a son, brother, husband, father, papa, coach, and a kind human being to all that he met. Many would agree that if you met Don, you liked him and if you knew Don, you loved him!
