Howard Edward Leach, 96, passed away on January 7, 2016 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born on November 26, 1919 in Laredo, Missouri, the fourth child of successful farmer parents, Isaac Leach and Anna Myers Leach.
After a brief career as a policeman, he joined the military and was called to active duty on Pearl Harbor Day. During his military service, Chief Master Sergeant Leach received many decorations and awards: Three Bronze Star Medals, Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Good Conduct Medal with five Bronze Loops, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, USAF NCO Academy Graduate Ribbon and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and a reputation for excellence in the U.S. Air Force.
Howard was a member of the NRA and active with the Republication party. He was a very generous and kind person.
Howard is survived by his daughter, Lealta Enseki of Cape Cod, MA; sisters, Marjorie Williams and Martha Doty of CA, and his significant other of 6 years, Helen Moran.
