Wilma Jean Newman passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 88. Wilma was born in Fort Branch, Indiana on July 16, 1924 to Otto and Jewell (Jefferies) Burke. Wilma worked as a hairdresser in Indiana before moving to Tucson, AZ in 1974 to continue working as a hairdresser. She then moved to Yuma, then Kingman before settling in Lake Havasu City in July of 1991. Wilma was an active and beloved member of Havasu Christian Church. She was also a frequent visitor of the local Taco Bell. Wilma is survived by her son Francis Newman and his wife of Hazelton, IN and their children as well as her extended church family. Visitation and viewing for Wilma will be on Sunday February 3, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 1:30 PM. Pastor John Walton and Pastor Claude Bulger will offer words of comfort and inspiration. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
