Obituary of Florence Berryhill
Please share a memory of Florence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Long time Parker resident, Florence Berryhill, passed away on June 25, 2017. She was born July 28, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois to her parents William and Mary Kelly.
She was 103 years of age.
Florence was a department manager for Statistical Tabulating Corp., when she transferred to Los Angeles in 1953, where she resided in Long Beach, California. She met and married Bert Berryhill in 1965. She joined the BPO Does in 1982, and she also joined the Parker Woman's Civic Club. She served three, two year terms as the PWCC President; she was also the district president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs for three years, chairperson for the GFWC Graduate Scholarship program in Arizona for many years, a member of the Big River Garden Club, and a life time member of La Paz Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
Among the projects Berryhill worked on with the PWCC, was the Ramada at Western Park. She said it took some time for the project to come together. The club was able to obtain a grant and matched funds to help build it.
Berryhill was also a volunteer for many years with the hospital auxiliary. She served on the Town of Parker's Senior Center Committee. She would tell people, "I'm a professional volunteer."
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Kelly; husband, Bert Berryhill, and sister, Geraldine Biggs.
Donations can be made to the Parker Senior Center in Florence's name.
