Rockney Earl Rhoades July 15, 1953 - January 31, 2013 Rockney E (Rocky) Rhoades passed away January 31, 2013. He was born July 15, 1953 in Wheeling WV. He was only 4 years old when he moved to San Bernardino California in 1957 with his mother, father and two older brothers. He attended school there and graduated from Cajon High School. He also attended Valley College 2 years taking courses in Climatology. He was a semi pro bowler most of his life and has several rings for 299 and 300 point games. Rocky was also a truck driver for Arrowhead Magazine Co. of San Bernardino. He injured his back there and then took a job as a security officer for the Santa Fe Railroad patrolling the tracks from San Bernardino to the Cagon summit. He traveled all over this country and Alaska. He loved to fish and spend many summers dredging for gold in Northern California. His latest adventure took him to Oklahoma for the spring and summer season chasing tornados. He spent the winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona with his brothers. He was never married and had no children. Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Beecher J Rhoades and Dorothy R Rhoades, sister Nancy Rhoades (Poulter), brother James Rhoades. He is survived by older brother, Beecher J Rhoades Jr, of Camden WV, Brenton Lee Rhoades of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and sister, Arletta J Watkins of St Clairsville, Ohio. He will be greatly missed by family and numerous friends. Services to be held February 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Lakeview Community Church, 1699 W. Acoma Blvd, Lake Havasu City, AZ. Also a brief memorial at graveside and reception lunch back at the church. Preferred flowers to be out door desert plants or donations made to Lakeview Community Church in Rocky's name. Rocky was a born again Christian, believes this scripture, Psalm 116:15.
