Obituary of Leo Joseph LaFlamme

Leo, age 86, of Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2017. He was a loving husband and father and had a heart of gold.
He was born on June 28, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Richard LaFlamme and Marion Busque.
He enlisted at the age of 17 into the Army and proudly served from July 9, 1947 to July 8, 1950. He worked for the City of Warren Fire Department, Michigan from 1961 to 1982, worked his way up through the ranks and retired as a Lieutenant.
He met and married Betty on January 27, 1981. In June of 1982, they decided to move to Lake Havasu City to open a business together. In August of 1982, they bought and opened the Sundowner Bar and Restaurant. They made lots of friends and had lots of good times. Leo and Betty sold the restaurant and retired on April 1, 2007. They enjoyed also going on many cruises together and Sunday visits to Laughlin to try their hand at Lady Luck.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty.
He is survived by his three children; Michelle Portelli, Linda Hamann and Steve LaFlamme; his three step children, Barbara (Danny) Stowell, James (Letha) Rajewski, and Louise Gott; nine grandchildren Tammy and Danny Ouellette and AJ Portelli, Joshua Hamann, Mark and Kevin Ward, Joseph Kowalski, and Ariana and Matthew Rajewski; three great grandchild, Frank and Cody Portelli, and McKinzie Ward; and brother, Albert (Joyce) LaFlamme and sister Rosette (Bill) Massey.
