Charles "Chuck" Lindtwed, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on May 22, 2017. He was born on October 30, 1942 in Langdon, North Dakota to his parents, Clarence and Irine Lindtwed. He was 74 years of age. Known as Charlie then, he grew up on the family farm outside of Milton, North Dakota. After graduating from NDSU in 1964 with a BS degree, he served in the Army as an Airborne Paratrooper. He took his job seriously and served his country well. Chuck was honorably discharged as a 1st LT. with the United States Army 1stArmored Division, 16th Engineer Battalion in August 1967. While in the Army he was the recipient of medals and awards, including the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Bronze Star, Parachutist Badge, National Defense Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. While stationed at Ft. Hood, TX, he met and married his first wife, Kathleen. They moved back to his hometown of Milton where he taught Vocational Agricultural Education at the high school. In addition, he worked as an insurance agent. In 1970 they moved to Houston, TX. He was employed with Montgomery Ward for twenty nine years in various management positions in Houston, Kansas City and Chicago. It was in Kansas City that he met his wife, Vicki and they married on May 15, 1982. After his retirement in 1999, they left Chicago and moved to Lake Havasu City where he worked Crazy Horse and SureWall Construction until retiring for good in 2007. Chuck loved old cars. After dabbling with Ford Retractables and early Mustangs, he started finding older cars in the fields of North Dakota and began restoring them from the ground up. He had a reputation around town for being a "go to" guy for mechanical issues and restoration for Model T's and A's cars. He was a member of the Over the Hill Gang, American Legion Post #81 for twenty six years and Elks Post #2399 for eighteen years and a former member of the Goldseekers and 82nd Airborne. Chuck and Vicki loved to travel, especially with friends and family, and shared many vacations together in the United States and Europe. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Irine; siblings, JoAnne McCoy, Wilma Rodacker, and George Lindtwed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Vicki; son, Mark (Elisabeth); step-daughter, Amy Proctor; sisters, Alice Landsgaard, Helen (Larry) Pedersen; sister-in-law, Elaine Lindtwed; brother-in-law, DuwayneRodacker and two grandchildren, Sabrina and Violet. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of Life will be immediately following at the Realtor® Center.
