Obituary of Doris Jane Nelson

Doris Jane Nelson, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on May 13, 2017. She was born on February 3, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents, William and Verna Coady. She was 85 years of age. After graduating high school, she was employed as a switchboard operator at a phone company for 25 years. Doris lived in Carson City, Nevada for 26 years then moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 2016 to live with her daughter and granddaughter, one year prior to her death. Doris loved to travel. She traveled throughout the United States and even to Japan. She loved taking as many trips as she could. She was a member of the Lake Tahoe Corvette Club and also a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by her son, Andy Abbott, of Carlsbad, California; daughters, Vallari Sanchez, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Layne Nelson, of Woodburn, Oregon, and Leslie Glass, of Orangevale, California; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She had much love for her friends but especially for her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
