Obituary of Jamie Joy Wirick

Jamie Joy Wirick, age 65, peacefully passed the morning of May 9 in her adopted home of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Jamie was born on September 25, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Leo and Ginnie Stiles. Her father was in the United States Navy and the family moved to San Diego, California where she grew up and lived until she moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 2009.

Jamie worked for the County of San Diego, where she met her future husband, Steve, and they married in 1976. After taking a couple of years off to raise their three sons (which included twins), she returned to work with the State of California, from where she retired in 2008. For a number of years she also enjoyed being a party planner consultant for Christmas Around the World and PartyLite.

Jamie was a fixture in the San Diego area soccer community. She was director of the Santee Spring Soccer Tournament for ten years, and at various times she was a coach, referee, and board member for the local AYSO region. She loved traveling, especially to Hawaii, and being involved in the local community. She once ran for City Council in Santee, California. She enjoyed decorating her home for each of the holidays, to welcome friends and family. She adored her husband, three sons, and four grandchildren. She devoted much of her time and love to them and her close personal friends.

Jamie is survived by her brother, Lee Stiles, Jr. of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; husband, Steve; three sons and their spouses, Keven and Danielle Wirick, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Craig and Heather Wirick, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Brian and Justina Wirick, of San Diego, California; niece, Stefani and husband Mike Molloy, of San Diego, California; grandson, Landen, Seamus, and Brenton; granddaughter, Paislee; grandniece, Alylia, and numerous cousins.
