Obituary of John Morris

John Edward Morris passed away on Monday February 11, 2013 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 88. John was born on August 26, 1924 in Nyack, New York to Thomas and Sarah (Kreiger) Morris. Following graduation from high school, John entered the United States Army in June of 1943, proudly serving his country as a member of the 115th infantry 29th division during World War II until January of 1946. He was honorably discharged holding the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, John met the woman of his dreams, Nova Belisle, and the two were married on August 25, 1946, one day before his birthday. John retired as an owner of a lawn and garden equipment store. John enjoyed gardening, fishing and boating and while they lived in California he was a Llama Rancher. He also loved playing cards with his friends in Lake Havasu on Friday nights and the occasional trips to the casinos in Laughlin and Parker. John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Nova Morris; daughter Cathy Ochs of San Clemente, CA; son John Morris of Agua Dulce, CA; Grandchildren Duane, Janell, Amie and Harlan and sister-in-law Joan Leewald of Lake Havasu City and 1 great grandchild on the way. A private gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. John will be loved and missed by all forever.
