Obituary of Jean Marie Peterson
Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jean M. Peterson, aged 85, "graduated" peacefully from this earthly life to join her husband, Albert in the presence of the Lord on March 6, 2017.
She was born August 12, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Jessen and Anne Wood. Losing her father at a young age, she learned responsibility, independence, and Compassion. These are traits that she carried thoughout her life.
Jean married Albert Peterson in Glenwood, Iowa on June 22, 1948 and mothered four children in Nebraska.
1959 found the Petersons moving to Southern California from Lincoln, Nebraska. Jean worked as a ward clerk for the then small West Covina Hospital. A job she really loved.
Throughout the years there were other jobs, bank teller, store clerk, and the foundation for the disabled (her favorite), and other addresses. But through the changes, life's difficulties and tragedies, she survived on her faith and her great humor. A prayer warrior in times of trouble and a quick witted humor when you least expected it. If you needed advice, support, wisdom, or compassion, she was always there for you, family, friend, or stranger.
At age 70, Jean retired from her secretarial job for a H.O.A. in Palm Desert, California and moved to Medford, Oregon to be with two of her children and their families. She enjoyed her garden and her roses, family, and friends.
At age 84, another move was in order. This time Lake Havasu, where her other two children lived, also, a granddaughter and two great grandchildren. For Jean, "home was where the heart is." Her heart was always with her family, four children, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Jean was truly a beautiful woman inside and out. Mother and friend, you will be forever in our hearts.
