Harry Kilb, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away February 22, 2017. He was born to Gustav and Luisa Kilb in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 21, 1927. He was 89. Harry was drafted into the US Army Air Corps after he graduated high school in 1945 and was honorably discharged in June of 1947. He went on to earn a degree in Liberal Arts at the University of Chicago in 1949. He married his childhood friend, Marjorie Stamm, on September 6, 1949. They had 5 children and shared over 67 years together. Harry earned his Master's degree in personnel counseling in 1967. He had his own private practice in Ohio as well as working as an industrial psychologist. They moved to Lake Havasu in 1976. Harry worked in numerous positions, making a difference all over town. He was the first New Horizons Assistant Executive director, established a preschool program for children with disabilities as well as a DOL-certified Sheltered Workshop for Impaired Adults with the McCulloch Corporation. Additionally, he was a reporter for the original Today Newspaper, a Health Planner for WACOG, and became Heath Director for the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe in Needles. He assisted in the development of the annual Native American Inter-Tribal substance abuse conferences along the Colorado River. He retired from Fort Mojave in 1998. Harry was a member of Lake Havasu Gem & Mineral Society and an officer for many years. He attended jewelry classes at MCC, was active in the LH Genealogical Society, and was a member of the Four Wheelers Association of Havasu. His children fondly remember his love of puns and wordplay, hikes in the woods, road trips, and singing in the car. Harry is preceded in death by his parents, his only brother Eugene, and his son David. He is survived by his wife; Marjorie Kilb, sons; Richard, Steven and Eric, daughter; Jenny; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 on the way. Donations can be made to Hospice of Havasu. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
