Henry (Hank) Miller
May 21, 1925-February 15, 20017
Henry (Hank) Robert Miller passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born in Staten Island, New York to Henry Jacob and Katherine (Kovacs) Miller.
Hank entered into service with the US Navy May 20, 1943. While serving in the Navy, Hank was part of the large assault of the Japanese islands. He served on the USS Dupage and the USS Goodhue. He was honorably discharged April 29, 1946.
Hank met his beloved Scotty, on a blind date February 14, 1949. Hank and Scotty married April 1, 1950 in Holyoke, Mass. Hank was employed by the New York City Police Department as a Corrections Officer for 20 years. Hank and Scotty retired and moved to Lake Havasu City in 1984. Even though retired, Hank couldn't stand still. Hank worked 7 years security at the London Bridge Resort and several more years for the Lake Havasu City Municipal Court.
Hank was a faithful and true fan of the New York Yankees for all his life. He enjoyed bowling, reading, woodworking, and traveling. Hank was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9401.
Hank is survived by his daughters, Patti A. (Richard) Jennings, Lake Havasu City, Jeryl L. Miller, Lake Havasu City, and Leslie M. (Craig) Burnside, Minden, Nevada; grandsons, Stephen P. (Jacquie) Bunn, Lake Havasu City, Adam Burnside, Minden, Nevada; granddaughter, Brianne Burnside, Minden, Nevada; great-grandsons, Aidan P. and Kaleb H. Bunn, Lake Havasu City.
A private family service with Military Honors will be held at a later date.
