Obituary of Marlin Haag
Please share a memory of Marlin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marlin F. (Fred) Haag passed peacefully in the caring hands of Hospice of Havasu February 20, 2017 at the age of 93.
Born December 3, 1923 in Curwensville, PA to Fred and Georgie (London) Haag, Fred spent his youth in the hills of PA, later relocating to Niagara Falls, NY.
After serving in the US Army during WWII, Fred married Jeanne McGill and spent the next 67 years by her side. Together they raised two children. After retiring, Fred and Jeanne travelled to many states. They spent several years in Colorado and Florida until settling in Lake Havasu 19 years ago.
An electrician and welder by profession he also had the talent to build and repair most anything he set his mind to. He was a member of IBEW for over 55 years.
He had a green thumb and enjoyed planting and tending to his gardens. He loved to hunt and fish and was an exceptional stained glass artist.
Fred was a member of the Eagles, The Moose and the American Legion where he was loved by all due to his great sense of humor and the seemingly endless repertoire of stories and jokes that he shared. "Never lose your sense of humor" was his motto.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Admiral, half brothers Don, Thornton, Ken, Emery, Charlie and Ronald and half sister Peggy.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne, son Kenneth Haag (JoAnne), daughter Marlene Singer, Grandson Jason Rivardo (Christina) and their son Austin, half sister Patty Picard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held 11:30 – 12:30 at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Friday February 24th. Rosary at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church followed immediately by Mass of Christian Burial and interment at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
