Obituary of Vera Evelyn Mite

Vera (Desiderio) Mite, 96, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, formerly of Hudson, NH, passed away on January 16, 2017 in Lake Havasu City. She was born in Chelsea, MA on July 12, 1920, a daughter of the late James and Susan Desiderio. She was predeceased in 1997 by her husband Christie Mite. She was also predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Borgonzi, and her brothers, Arthur, Gerald, James, Anthony and Michael Desiderio. Vera and Chris moved to Arizona where they developed many new friendships and became involved in various organizations in the city of Lake Havasu. Vera was a volunteer chef in the Soup Kitchen at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church for over 11 years, but quit due to declining health at the age of 95. Vera's passion was cooking and she loved cooking for family and friends. Another of her passions was sewing along with other artistic talents. Vera is survived by five daughters, Patricia Prince, Donna Clark, Dorothy Mite and her husband Paul Burgarella, Ellie Mite, Lisa Mite; 5 grandchildren, Christine Lavoie and her husband Guy, David Clark and his wife Wendy, Joseph Clark and his wife Judi, Christopher Griner and his wife Karen, Amanda Mite and her partner Matt; and 6 great grandchildren, Courtney, Christopher, Nikole, Jamie, Bella, Kenzie; her brother and sister-in-law, George and Nancy Desiderio of Everett, MA, sister-in-law, Genevieve Desiderio, and many nieces and nephews. Church services for Vera will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1975 Daytona Drive, Lake Havasu City, AZ, followed by a luncheon at the Church. All friends and family of Vera are invited to attend. Interment of ashes will take place in a private service at a later date. Donations can be made in Memory of Vera Mite to: Hospice of Havasu, P.O.
